Holland

Throughout the last 2 weeks I have been working on this slide show about history of Holland. I really liked finding out all the history and making slides about them, I would definitely do this again.

Sand dunes

Sand dunes.
The wind blows on the sand and it makes a pile then the water splashes and goes onto the pile of sand which keeps going back and forth and then makes a sand dune.
Animals live in sand dunes so we cant step on them, that also explains why we have a path to walk up and down.  Sand dunes are important because with out them we cant live.
There was a story about these people who moved into a new house by the beach they put a argument out because they lived right in front of the beach but every morning they wanted to watch the sun rise from there house but the sand dunes were in the way. So they asked the council if they could take all the sand dunes down the council cut a sand dunes in half and it was a tester so if this was fine then they could take all of the sand dunes down but then the sand started blowing in there attic and the roof fell down on them. Luckily they weren't in the room were the roof fell off but that is why we have sand dunes to avoid what happened in the past.

Today Chleo and I worked on this slide how to be safe online by being Netiquette which means the correct or acceptable way of using the Internet. We had to use this google drawing which had a maze like snakes and ladders, you roll a dice and whatever number you get you move to the activity.

Mysteries of the rosary!

 Today and yesterday Tahliah and i worked on this slide.

Super swimming!

Walt:Write a story about what happened at swimming .

It was the week were the fun is going to happen.

The fantastic classic room 3 spent 2 weeks going to QE2
teaching  people how to be more confident with swimming and how to be
skilled at swimming, like going faster in the water and having better technique.
First we hopped on the bus and drove from school to QE2. Once we arrived we sat
on the seats next to the deep pool.
Then Mr Gray handed out maths sheets,our maths books,glue sticks and pens/pencils.
Some of us finished our maths sheets and glued it into our maths books.
After we finished the maths sheets we got to play card games.
I played uno with Arnaika and Georgia.Then we got changed and waited until the instructor
came, then she gave us our safety message. After that we went to our instructor
and did a safety entrance into the pool. Then we started off by doing 2 lengths of
streamline then some freestyle,backstroke and breaststroke then we did a challenge of
who can hold their breath for the longest and Teia won then we all got out and got
changed and went back to school. Overall I enjoyed swimming and it was fun.

Thank you QE2 instructors for giving up your time to teach us how to be better at
swimming and how to be more confident.   

        

Fact of the day!

Walt:make a screencastify of how to work out one of the fact of the days. so i did place value because i find it easy to work out and explain.

Kawa of care :)

Walt: Do a DLO of how to be kawa of care.Throughout this week we made a DLO on how to take care of your Chromebook/Laptop which would be Kawa of care. When you take good care of your Chromebook,charge it and be on the right space right time. So that would be on the right website at the right time. Just read the list for more info.

Interland fun!

Walt: to be internet awesome.
Room two and three joined up to play interland which is a game that has 4 different quests kind kingdom,Tower of treasure,Mindful mountain and Reality river they each have different meanings to keep safe online.Where you had to stop bullies and make the people who got bullied feel better. I really like kind kingdom because i like making people feel better and smile!
And they have tutorials so you will be able to play as good as everyone else.

The amazing library!

I like new Brighton library because they have amazing books,they have a really good view especially if you go upstairs and sit on the couches.
This is the book i got and the picture of the library is from google.

Duffy books!

Walt:we can be anything we want to be!
Today (Friday the 13th of September) We did a Duffy assembly.

For our Duffy role model this term we had a lady called Stella  come in. We learnt so much but the main thing she said was ¨we can be anything¨.We also learnt about preys and predators that kill our birds.                                                                                           

It was very interesting to learn all different facts that i didn't know.

for our reward we made lots of different huts Tahliah and i both made a hut together with 2 desks 4 chairs and 2 blankets here is what it looks like inside.

Akaroa

WALT hook my audience in with a catchy start.

I woke up,filled with tiredness. Suddenly it hit me I realised I was going to Akaroa. I then looked over to see my still sleeping friend Elizabeth,but she wasn't the one coming with me. 

I jumped out of bed with excitement and ran straight to the shower. Once I got dressed I ran to see if Elizabeth was awake but surprisingly she was still asleep so I jumped on the bed to wake her up. 

After we dropped Elizabeth home, my mum dropped me off at Molly's house and while she was talking to Kara (Mollys mum) I dropped my stuff on the ground and ran up to Molly's room. After about ten minutes my mum left then we all put all our stuff in the car snacks, blankets,  pillows etc. Oh and also we didn't forget Molly's dog because he was coming with us.

After about 30-50 minutes in the car we were at little river (it's not a river) We went there to get lollies and let Teddy (the dog) go to the toilet. When we got to the holiday home we got all of our stuff and put it in our room, we also made some Tik Toks and ate lollies.

When we finished Molly and I walked around the town and went to the rock shop and got ice cream. The second day we hung around did some gymnastics on the couch and took Teddy for a walk. After that we packed all our stuff up  and headed back home.

Duffy Book!

On Friday the 5th of July the hole school got Duffy books.I chose this book because I love Tom gates and Liz Pichon's books. It's about a boy named Tom and how much he hates maths.He also tries to avoid it. He has a best friend named Derek and they live next door to each other. He loves naming his teachers weird things like he calls Mrs Worthington  Mrs Worthingtush.
and also a massive thank you to scholastic for giving us these books!

Dancing like the stars reflection.

WALT:Write a reflection showing how we felt about Dancing Like The Stars.

On Tuesday the 2nd of July the year sixes when to dancing like the stars at the Isaac theatre royal to dance the salsa.Our wonderful dance teacher Donna taught us the dance. We practiced  3 times a week Monday,Wednesday and Thursday for an hour.All together it took us 10 weeks to learn the dance. There were thousands of people in the audience and the lights shone very bright so we couldn't see them when we were dancing. It was really exciting because Aaron Gilmore hosted the night and performed a dance with Vanessa Cole.When they called us up my stomach dropped. We all danced amazing and really enjoyed it.

Winter sport reflection

I played hockey.

We did great today we won the first game 5/1 against Rawhiti
 we all tried so hard and so did the other team.

That it was super hot and
its harder because you are moving around I also found hard was the
team we played last because they were really good.
I am  looking forward for next week
because its super fun and I love playing with my friends.I
need to work on not passing the ball through the
middle instead pass round the side.

I woke up from a strange dream,I got up from my bed,walked into the dining room and  saw my my oldest sister lying on the couch with ants crawling all over her face and maggots eating her ear wax.I walked up to her deep growly voice,I hear her muttering saying ¨who's that in my house?¨ I wander off to my room and look under my bed for my red hoodie.I then see a dead body under my bed  and i scream as loud as i possibly could in horror. Blood was EVERYWHERE!Then I feel something strange happening,My feet are turning green with purple spikes,¨I'm turning into a monster¨.

I really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun on my bike and with my friends.I loved riding on the road and going through the roundabout and biking on the road.
